Apart from a handful of processes, we develop, design, craft, assemble, and quality control all our lenses and cameras in-house there. This includes grinding lenses, molding plastic parts, painting, mounting substrates, assembly, manufacturing screws and other components, and machining molds.
Our approach gives us the freedom to develop camera optics without the compromises of others, allowing us to hone our craft and quickly turn new ideas into solutions. The result is authentic “Made in Aizu, Japan” quality.

The history of our Aizu factory is intertwined with the history of Sigma. From the moment we first established a factory in Aizu, our focus has been on growing and developing as a member of the local community.
